Since the oxygen is leaving an area of higher concentration into an area of low concentration (lungs to blood) and the carbon dioxide is doing the reverse the process is called diffusion.

not respiration - respiration is making ATP (energy) from oxygen and glucose.

you could also call it "breathing"
