I think that there are some differences to an extent, but I think that it depends more on where and how you were raised rather than your race alone. I know many people that do not act like the stereotypical person of their race. I also believe that the more time goes on, the smaller the gap will become (as it has gotten smaller already). It make take many many more years before we can say there are truly no differences at all, but as for now I think there are more factors than just race that make people different from others; race is only one of them.

The "feel good" answer is that we're all the same under the skin, etc. That's true to some extent but that's not what matters when you function in society, because people treat you differently depending on how you look. Also, different races often have different cultures, and cultural differences are greater than biological differences, IMO.

The difference is mainly in culture, and even in the same culture there's a lot of variation.

Take a black person from Africa, a black person from the US, and a black person from some country that never heard of slavery, and you'd find a lot of differences between them.

Let's put it this way. I've talked to a TON of ppl online, and unless they've told me or have an avatar or something, I have no idea what race they are. There was this one guy I'd known for at least 2 years before I found out he was black. I think that says a lot.

My five major influences on race relations:
(1) the book "Black Like Me" by John Howard Griffin, originally published in 1961;
(2) Rev. Martin Luther King
(3) "Eyes on the Prize" the PBS series/book
(4) Music
(5) "Something that God Made" HBO Movie

I grew up in the 60s, so it was a huge influence these forces had against a racist Northeastern upbringing.

Race is an adaptation to different environmental conditions. Dark skin blocks UV radiation, near the equator it is high. Light skin lets it in to produce vitamin D. Short stocky bodies such as Esquimos and Lapps reduce surface area to conserve heat. Is one better than the other? No, they're just different.

It's only skin deep, after that we are all the same. To bad we can't turn everyone inside out. Well OK so that might be gross, but so is racism.
So to answer your question, No we really aren't that different, some just choose to think so.

The differences comes from being influenced by society , the media, and our environments, where we live and how we are raised by the older generations.

thats almost like asking if there is a pure blooded white person in the United states. Answere to that one is umm No.

back to the main question race depends on your definiton of race: the traditional definiton is Race - term historically used to descrive a human population distinguishavle from others based on shared biological traits.

thats a definition i found from encarta and in my opinion it still holds true somewhat, but with the fast passed society it is rapidly being redefined.

In a perfect world, no we are all the same and have the same values and live by the same creeds. Now in this world, yes we are different, and as soon as we all realize that we can start accepting each other for those differences. We are not one big melting pot...we are more like a stew, with big hearty chunks of everything, still in the gravy but each has it's own identity.

Only by features and skin color but we bleed the same blood color, red. What if God would of created every tree to look alike, every animal to look alike, every human being to look alike, all the flowers on this earth to look alike etc. It would be pretty boring! What if he made every human white or every human black or red? It would be very boring. God is one of the most skilled artist in the worlds, universe etc. He saw and still see beauty in whatever he created. This is his work and man has the nerve to judge his work that he made by his mighty hand and that he spoke into existence. Now man is trying to be like God and reform his creation by cloning etc. God saw that it was good and everything was made perfect, he rested on the six day! All of God's creation is beautiful. Black, white, red. It is man himself that has made man unsightly and unacceptable. We are different as individuals but in Gods eyes he is no respecter of person. So where did we go wrong?
