It's linear because its graph is a line with non-zero slope.

ok, well, here let me give you examples of each

a cubic function is one that is something like
f(x) = x^3 + anything...as long as nothing is higher power than a x^3, and its sorta hard to show you or describe what it looks like
a linear function is one that is something like
f(x) = 7x + anything as long as nothing is higher power than x...this looks like any straight line that is not vertical or horizonal
a constant function is on that is something like
f(x) = 3, basically f(x) will always equal some number, and whatever that number is...there is a horizontal line at that value on teh y axis
a quadratic functin is somethign like
f(x) = x^2 + anything as long as nothing is higher power than x^2...this looks like an horseshoe shape...or an upside down horseshoe...also known as a parabola

to answer you question, its a linear function

hope this helps

it is a linear function for the graph is a straight line with a slope of 2. it rises 2 units for every one unit.

This is a linear function.
It's a degree = 1 equation.
Quadratic is a degree 2, cube is degree 3 and constant is degree 0.

2 is constant
2x is linear
2x^2 is quadratic
2x^3 is cube

So, linear.

linear because it does not have a squared term like a quadratic, is not cubed, and is not a constant (such as 3, 56, or 100(no variable))
