It seems as if Hollywood is always influencing the rest of the world in some way, whether through eating disorders or fashion sense. I have noticed there are a lot of actors and actresses having children before they marry. It wouldn't be so bad if media didn't hype it up as much. Do you think this will cause more children to be born out of wedlock or most importantly that the parents feel it's alright? I just think teens watch too much t.v. and now their favorite actresses or actors are having children before marriage and I think it is a bad influence. Don't get me wrong, if a child is born out of wedlock (as long as that child is born into love unconditionally) it isn't neccessarily wrong, but I just think media is making a big deal and it's going to cause problems. Look how many girls had or have eating disorders because their favorite stars are paper thin and they want to be too. I'm sure I will get flamed but I just wondered what everyone else thinks....

I just want to say that I don't think having children out of wedlock is wrong, it isn't my place to judge. I just think it is wrong that the media is making it a big deal. And about Britney-I agree and I am glad they are showing what she is doing. She seems to have an excuse everytime she screws up, but notice I said EVERYTIME? It is definately up to parents to educate their children. And although children being born out of wedlock may have been occuring for a long time, it only became acceptable in recent years. It seems media is trying to make it more acceptable. If you are financially, physically, and emotionally secure, then do what makes you happy. I just think its a bad influence on our younger generation.

Well this is an opportunity to talk to our children about sex and babies. On the note about media hyping that kinda stuff up look at the other side they are hyping up too. Look at all the stories about how Britney Spears is doing such a crappy job as a young mother that is not ready for a child and now has number 2 on the way. If your children are going to see the glamorous side of it make sure they see the "bad" side of it. I think the main thing in this right now is talk to you children. Make sure they know that these people have the money to do this on their own and most of the time they don't do it on their own. Most of them have nannies and such.

Kids have been born out of wedlock for years, it's not until recently that the media has made a big deal out of it. I honestly don't think it's that big a deal. I'm 25 and I'm engaged but haven't set a wedding date and don't plan on it anytime too soon. We have two kids but we're not ready for the whole marriage thing yet. I've heard that statistics show that 50% of marriages end in divorce (or somewhere close to that). That being true I don't see what marriage has to do with parenting. Besides all that, too many Hollywood marriages and couples don't last anyhow.

I think that it's more that people in hollywood don't really have traditional religion. Religion is really the only reason to not want a baby out of wedlock. Many very happy, very loved children don't have married parents. Teens go out and get pregnant no matter what Katie Holmes is doing..

i do believe that it is wrong to have a child out of wedlock. Now a days, it seems having a baby is a cute as having a brand new purse. It's not that simple and easy people. At least celebs have money and careers for which they can provide for their children. The teens need to get an education and value themselves before they get married and then they should start thinking about starting a family. Hopefully people want be so stupid to look at Angelina Jolie and think that that could be them.

Getting married in Hollywood isn't as esy as you would think. Having kids is. Now, i'm not saying it's right, but Hollywood couples rarely stay together...some like to wait a long time before tying the knot because they know this.

I agree with you. I think they are doing it because it is "different from the norm". Hollywood would hate to do anything that everyone else is doing. They wouldn't get so much attention then, and that would just be the end of the world now, wouldn't it? :)
