Something that works like a champ no matter how wealthy or not the recipient is; you can go to a gold/silver dealer. They have silver coins (1oz) that are stamped "to my friend", "Happy Fathers Day" etc. I bought one for my Dad for Father's day. It cost $15. They are gorgeous.

they have little bags at Wal-mart with lotions and bubble bath and gel. That's what I usually buy when I'm on a budget.
