I have Windows Media Player, and usually when I put in a CD, WMP pops up and the music automatically starts playing. However, when I put in a CD that has music and any kind other kind of media on it (such as video), it won't play. The music won't start, and I can't find any way to play the CD. What can I do?
Thanks! :)

If it does it on just one mixed media CD-That CD might be bad. If it does it on all llike this, try to copy the files you want to your My Music folder and play it from there.

Does WMP show up at all. If not, just open WMP, and go to " Now Playing". There's a little arrow on the same button. It should say "Albums, artists, etc. and disc in drive or something like that.
or you can also go to My Computer, and the cd should appear. Does this help?

WMP may not be the default player for the other file extentions on the disk... go to MY COMPUTER and select the drive and click OPEN ...if you get the OPEN WITH box, select WMP -- but wait until you find out if it works before leaving the ...always... box check marked.

Or click EXPLORE and play them indivigually... assuming the disk is recognized by the drive.

First you need to go to control panel and see if it even sees your CD drive. If it does not then one of two things are happening: First and none mechanical you have a virus stopping the second IDE channel from working. Secondly it is telling you that you have an IDE connection problem. This may be the cable or the motherboard. Hope this helps.
