They can't, not in 2006 anyway. The USA plays less than competitive teams to rack up qualifying points. This means lack of better competition. They will not improve, no matter how talented there players become in the future while they play teams that are less competitive than themselves. Better to play a few friendly games and lose to the greater sides and learn something and have your experience grow than to win against feeble competition and have your standard of play remain the same. Just my opinion.

by getting a new manager/coach. Did you see Bruce Arena during the Czech match? No emotion - he looked resigned to lose the game right from the beginning. Pathetic - and then to take shots at some of the players after the game was even worse! I feel that there is no way to win the World Cup this year, and if the USA is ever going to win the World Cup they need to get a manager with personality and fire.

Beat Italy and get 3pts. 1-0 I predict. Then Ghana needs to Tie The Czechs, And we need to have a field-day with Ghana 4-0, yeah right!?!?! LOL. Oh yeah Italy and the Czechs need to tie 0-0.So, if the US ties a game or loses it OVER!!!! Going to have to wait till 2010!!!! DAMN!!!True beasly should have played on the left side, it is only common sense. I dont really know why Arena has Keller as the starting keeper, Howard is younger and better. Start Johnson!!! Arena had all rights to talk that way about his players, so does captian america, Reyna!!! Honestly though he needs to retire, the assistant coach (forgot his name) seems like he knows his ****!!! Any ways just support our team guys and hope for the best for our team, we need to prove to the world that we can play this game and defeat the giants like Brazil and Germany!!! Honestly though they will win in 2010, South Africa!!!!

they can not, maybe 10 years later but now ,they need to defeat all the favorite teams ,brazil,france ,argentina ,germany ,italy
and they seem to have enough with their group,they need to stay in the first two places of the group and then defeat all the opponents they face.

They have to beat Italy and Ghana to have a chance. But even then they might get second in their group and have to face Brazil!
