When I was 12 (back when dinosaurs roamed the earth), I started smoking cigarettes because I wanted to fit in with the cool people. When I was 13 I started smoking pot for the same reason. Then it was speed, ludes, mushrooms, acid, and some drugs that I didn't know what they were - I just took it because my friends did. Then, to get money for drugs I started stealing from cars. Then I stole from my parents, and then my friends. By the time I was 16 one of my friends was in jail for murdering a 10 year old boy who walked in on him while he was robbing a house. Another friend was shot in the face over a bad drug deal. Two guys I knew were killed on a motorcycle while driving drunk. And no, I didn't come from a "bad" part of town - my father is a CPA and we lived in a very nice neighborhood.
So, that's what I did and what happened when I did. You know what's right or wrong. Have the strength of character and do what's right; you will have your self respect and be better off in the long run.
Good Luck

no, i would never give into peer pressure. My friends have before. Peer Pressure can be a good thing in some ways to. Last year the consler came to our class and told us soem good excuses. Here are some that she told us.
1. Make it a joke. (Haha, are you kidding me?)
2. Act like you are ingaged in something else.
3. Make an excuse.
4. Use the broken record teqnique. (If they kee bugging you continue repeating NO)
5. Insult there intellegance.
6. Run away.
Hope those could help!

When I was 17, my girlfriends & I, went out with some of my friends-big-sisters, friends who had cars, they bought us beer, way back in 1978. And my girlfriend was use to drinking beer for years, I never had one before, that night. When she handed it to me I thought it smelled terrible, and tasted terrible. My Best-friend teased me, by telling me I wasn't going to get drunk by sipping it, and yelled at me to "Guzzle!" And everyone in the car started repeating to me what she said. "Guzzle", "Guzzle"! And to make along story short.. I blaim her, for my past alcoholism years, to this day! Even tho, I've spent many years sober, off & on since. And sober for two years, this time. Peer pressure can be very harmful, especially when you really look up to that person, or friend. And I was a follower, in those days. I'm now graduated to a "leader" type. So, be careful, kids! Dont do what I did!!

Almost but I held strong to the belief that most of my "friends" were idiots and would eventually become fat Alcholics or skinny drug addicts.
The want not to become one of those really helps, especially if you know how it can hurt you and the people around you.
