HE WAS WRONG BECAUSE SHE BELIEVED HIM BECAUSE HE WAS HER FATHER AND SHE TRUSTED HIM AND HE USED THAT TO HIS ADVANTAGE.YOUR GRANDMOTHER SHOULD HAVE BEEN THERE TO HELP HER BECAUSE IT WAS HER JOB AS A MOTHER TO PROTECT HER CHILD FROM HARM.

I am so sorry about the whole situation for all of you. All of you are human beings, are valuable and respectable.

I saw on the maternity floor, on a wall a plaque that said "A baby is God's way of saying the world should go on".

You mention the 80's. It was in the 60's that I first knew people knew this was wrong.

So her father violated her in many many ways.

At some point she had had enough to leave.

Her heart brought her back to him.

Our heart doesnt have a brain. That your mom chose to continue to love her father, to her, her FATHER, is bittersweet. Its a sad thing.

But now, back to June 2006:

Forget whether or not your mother was wrong to believe that it was okay to sleep with him. Its over. History. A judgement is keeping a dead issue alive. She cannot ever be absolved by her accusers, so leave her be. Let her live in peace. Love her and reassure her.

As for the children, they did nothing wrong. Ever. Period.

Judgements, name calling, demeaning, the best thing to do is say nothing and hold your head up. No retorts, no facial expressions, nothing to respond to the hurtful words. Once people know they cant get you to respond, eventually they'll quit.

(I'm trying to be nice but I'm ticked at your accusers...sorry)

Hold your head up and your mouth closed. No one needs to defend their existence.

I feel sorry for your Mom. Her father was terribly wrong for doing that to her. She was still just a child herself. It is very easy for us to sit in judgment and say she should have known it was wrong and not gone back after she had left the first time. But it is very easy for someone who is a user and manipulator to convince certain people of what they want them to believe. I'm glad your Mom eventually got away from him and I hope she found happiness after that.
