Well, the person to first answer your question just shot your entire generation in the feet, by saying WHERE way better now. How about we're way better now? The men of my time, my fathers generation, were indeed the greatest generation, as they have been called since WWII. They worked to provide for their families, they did not complain, and they were, for the most part a very honest generation. Now kids believe that you've done nothing wrong if you do not get caught. All they are doing is cheating themselves and possibly their children too.

While I believe there are still some great men today, I feel that a lot of men have just become lost, partly due to the feminest movement, and other reasons. Plus, men of yesterday had it tougher, like back during the depression. It was sink or swim back then, and to use the same analogy, most of us men would rather just ride in a boat these days.

Well, there will never be another Cary Grant--as far as good-looking, sophisticated actors go.
As for "normal" men: They take a lot for granted, expect their wives to work, don't take marriage seriously, cheat every chance they get.
No, I think the men of yesterday were a lot less arrogant, did stick to their wedding vows, and did provide for their families.

They're still 100% men, so yeah, they're equal to the men of yesterday. That does not mean that things haven't changed. We'll die out eventually, as all great civilizations do. We just need to live life, push for peace, and preserve this planet for our descendants.
