Every time I start my computer, it goes through the process of "finding" and "installing" my HP PSC 1350 All-In-One printer. It works fine when I try to print something, but is just a little annoying to have to sit and wait for it to do that. What can be wrong?

(I have tried removing and re-installing, that did not fix it.)

While returning it might be a good option since HP no longer makes it I am assuming that it is out of warranty and not an X or V model. I would first figure out if you are using USB 1.1 or 2. Often times older USB protocol will do that, and there is no way to fix it as each time it tries to connect at 2.0 and not finding it will re'find'. About the only other thing I ca think of is making sure that you have the most recent drivers. Hope this helps.

probably the drivers are not installing properly when you are installing the printer.

The one thing you can try to do is:
1. click on 'Start'
2. click on 'run'
3. Type 'msconfig'
4. in the window that comes up, click on the 'startup' tab
5 . check to see if there are any entries for HP Printer. If there is any entry,
6. Click ok.
7. restart system
8. upon start up, it will give you a warning window saying that your startup options where changed would you like to continue.
i don't remember the exact words, so respond appropriately.
9. If the problem still continues, then follow the manual and install the drivers in the specified order.
10. if nothing helps. then take it to Geek Squad
