mollies are tropical fish and goldfish arent but as long as the temperature is a about 75 it should work. goldfish can live through almost anything, and they are cheap to replace if not.

Molly can live with Goldfish as long as you keep a happy medium temperature in the low 70s. Molly are tropical and love veggie flakes like goldfish. Mollies and goldfish will benefit by adding about 1 tsp of aquarium salt per gallon. If you're just adding salt, do 50 % day one then complete the amount on day two. Do partial water changes once amount, no more than 50% at a time and replace the salt according tp the amount of water it works out to be.

Although goldfish and mollys would get along socially the problem is that goldfish are the dirtiest fish you can have. The ammonia levels are outrageous, they produce too much waste. Any other fish trying to live in these conditions will die. If you try and clean the tank too often to keep up with this problem you will create another problem. Goldfish should only be with other goldfish.

NO! If you do that then you will just end up wasting money. Fish stores often say that you can do that and so will many people. But that's an accident waiting to happen.
Goldfish are coldwater fish. Mollies are brackish, meaning a mix of freshwater and saltwater. Goldfish will not survive in brackish water.
If a pet store says it's okay, please do not listen to them, chances are, they're just trying to can you and take the money, and they have no clue what you're talking about.

No. They like completely different water conditions and when the goldfish grow they may eat the mollies.

Yes, ok. But mollies need some salt in the water, and goldfish do not like salt.

Wouldn't suggest it! A molly needs a heated tank! And goldfish love cold water! Your best bet is two tanks!!!

Yes, as long as you keep the water conditions correct for the mollie. Shouldn't have any problem at all.
