It is so difficult for you to tell what sort of damage you have done to your knee. There are lots of ligaments around the knee, all having different roles in stabilizing the knee in certain movements.
If your knee is swollen and you can't bend your knee all the way it could be a few different things: the swelling could be stopping you bending it all the way or you may have damaged one of the meniscus inside your knee.
Remember to RICE:
Rest
Ice - 10-15 minutes every hour
Compression - use an ACE wrap or similar
Elevation - keep your foot above your knee, knee above your hip
See your doctor, preferably an orthopedist, as soon as possible.
Good luck!

Ice, about 20 min. on and 1 hour off should help with the swelling. Go to your doctor so they can exam your knee to see if you have some sort of internal derangement, such as torn ligament or meniscus, versus just a sprain.

If you tore a ligament it woudl hurt ALOT and you wouldnt be able to walk. You still might want to check with a doc, though. At the least they can give you something to take the swelling down.

You have lots of ligaments in your knee and any one could be torn or injured, don't mess with waiting around ice it now and call a Dr.

See a doctor. I don't think you tore a ligiment, but you probably sprained it or broke it!
