i bet you saw the back page of the daily news in ny, cause thats what it said
i think they are, and not just because i am a mets fan
lets see:
1. Better relief pitchers. the yanks have let too many games slip through the hands of farnsworth and their other bullpen members
2. More balanced lineup. the mets lineup is as follows: s,r,s,l,r,s,l,s,pitcher. verrrry tough to get around in tight situations.
3. speed. 47 sb for the yanks, 68 for the mets.
4. 1-2 punch in start of rotation. Mets 1-2 starters are 15-4 with a 3.00 era while the yanks's are 15-7 with a 4.20 era.
5. Clutch. mr. highest paid player in baseball's stats: .283 avg, 13 hrs, 45 rbis, 6/9 stealing, 8 doubles, and 1 triple in 223 at bats. David Wright (Brought up from minors at no cost) is batting .336, 12 hrs, 45 rbis, 9/11 stealing, 18 doubles, 2 triples in 241 at bats. a-rod game winners: 0 Wright game winners: 4.

hope that helped.

As of right now, they sure are! They're playing to win, and they're having fun doing it. That's the problem with the Yanks, I think. They're just not having fun anymore, I think it's time for Torre to go and let some new blood shake things up a bit. I'm a Yankee fan, but I hope the Mets go all the way this year, they would sure deserve it and I don't think any other team would enjoyt it more.

Being a Yankee fan I have to say NO!!! But knowing baseball and good baseball teams, the Mets are good this year.

Definatly. They have a much better lineup then the yankees, and with pedro leading the rotation they should at least win 5 more games than the yanks.

overall i would say yes. they have a much more rounded team in that although all there players may not have the experience of the Yankees they have more younger players that wont tire or injure as easy as the older Yankee team

Definatlely at this point. With all of the Yankees injuries, there is no way to argue the point. Where they will be in September is the important thing, though.

definately. I'm a Red Sox fan, and losing Pedro sucked, but he's still doing amazing for new york. and the yanks got the big useless living up to his name.
