I think it is probably normal. You are young and your body is going through alot of changes right now.
If you are not sexually active and pregnancy is not possible, it is probably nothing to worry about.
My friends daughter was irregular until she turned 17...

My daughter's Dr. told us it could take anywhere from 3 months to 3 years for your period to regulate and become normal. It is your body getting used to the hormonal changes.

There are many reasons you could be late. If you are worried(and you seem to be) talk to your mom about it and check with the Dr.

YES you should see a doctor. If you are sexually active, you could be pregnant--you won't necessarily lose/gain weight at your age--you could have an infection. It could also just be your body trying to adjust to "womanhood" but at 36 days late, you should definitely see a doctor. If more comfortable, you could buy a home pregnancy test first, to rule that out.

if you are sexually active, i would suggest getting a pregnancy test.
if you are physically active, your body is just not ovulating because it's allocating all that energy to burning calories, etc...
if any other women in your immediate family (mother, sister...) also have had irregular cycles, i would suggest seeing a doctor, especially if you have severe acne and a lot of excess facial hair, or if you're overweight or obese.
otherwise, how old are you and when did you get your first period? in any case, i think you should see a doctor just to put your mind at ease and enjoy your teen life.

You are still very young. A young woman in her teens will often have irregular periods. It's nothing to worry about and it is normal. HOWEVER, if you have been sexually active or are experiencing abnormal pain you should go to the doctor asap

As long as you aren't sexually active, it is nothing to worry about too much. If you are REALLLY athletic and in shape, this is common for early girls. It happened to me up until i was 18. If you don't get it in a few more months, I'd say go becuase it could be something related to ovarian cysts (nothing too bad, dont' worry). Otherwise, you should be safe. If you're sexually active, take a home pregnancy test without your mom seeing, or go to a planned parenthood to get tested.
