With the climatic changes, weather you believe in Global Warming or not, the Polar bears have been suffering because of the ice melt. Some bears are not surviveing the once 5 mile swim that is now 80 miles, (nor are some young seal pups who cannot keep up with their parents durring this migrant swim) The Polar Bears are starving and have resorted to canabilism to eat. Some drown, some starve ... it's not good.

I cannot help but think of future generations who will only know the Polar Bears as mythical extinct creatures that once were. Perhaps our grandchildren will be telling stories of the cool white bears that once were ... but probably still on a Coka Cola bottle.

Then I have to start thinking about, "What goes around, comes around." If the climate can potentially kill bears ... what about effects on humanity? I can accept "natural" changes if that all this is but, to me ... it's pretty sad.

Well, we'll still have a few in the zoos. You know, I'm really on the far right wing on most issues, but the environment and support for the arts, I swing far left. Polar Bears will perhaps be blended into the grizzly bear population as they are forced out of their natural habitats. I'm with you all the way on climate changes, rapidly approaching. Thanks for the question.

The fact that climate changes can kill polar bears doesn't mean that much for humans. Polar bears are highly specialized to their environment, whereas humans are adaptable to a wide range of climates.

That's not to say that global warming will not screw things up for us royally, but it's doubtful it will cause the extinction of humanity.

just another set of dominoes being pushed to fall,if you think of the way they may become extinct, then it may bring to mind how cannibalism works, the much stronger eat the weak.we have pushed these beautiful animals into this kind of selection,it makes me wonder also, how will we be effected by this event.there is so much that is to change, and somethings all ready are,and there is no one we can blame but ourselves..
