Hi Emily, Most of the schools I know of don't allow tube tops, not even spaghetti strap tops. As for if she is too young, I would say yes, but I don't think tube tops are appropriate for school at any age. Tube tops make a "play wear" statement. School is the "job" that young people hold. I might wear a tube top to the beach or on a picnic, but not to work. Even if you live somewhere really hot there are other choices that are equally comfortable in the heat.

Yes your 11 year old sister too young to be wearing a tube top. Especially to school. You have every right to be concerned. Not only about the boys in school, but the guys that act like bloodhounds outside of school. And older men is something to be very scared about. I would be shocked to hear that the school would even allow this in their dress code! 11 is definitely to young to wear a tube top. Girls are trying to grow up way to fast today, modeling themselves after women like Paris Hilton and Britney Spears. She is a little girl, and she would be dressed like one. There is a difference between cute and slutty. 11 year olds should not be trying for slutty.

Of course she is too young! Plus it's school. You're there to learn. You don't wear that to school. It will distract others. Trust me it will. A girl coming to school like that, many boys will stare. And girls will go and talk trash saying she's a slut or something.

I would be really concerned if I were you. I think you should have a talk with her. Don't your parents have any input?

Help her out by showing her a cool way to cover her shoulders while she wears it. Maybe a shrug or a zip up sweater zipped to right under her bra line so she still feels good because she is wearing it but she doesn't look trashy. Let her know that she doesn't have to wear small revealing clothes to look good. Show her how to look great while looking classy! Don't tell your parents unless it gets bad. This way she will still have faith and trust in you. If she is starting to act a bit skanky at school then you may want to talk to your parents but at this age she will respect your opinion more than theirs... cherish that and use it to her advantage

I think it can be if she has something over it so you couldn't tell that it even was a tube top. School dress codes (if they have any at her school) would probably not permit it. check the rules from the office and they will tell you if they care. otherwise its up to your family's morals, not those of Yahoo! answerers.

Yes! however, when I was 11 I was pimpin Hoes. She is too young and it is inappropriate. When I was 11, and even to this day, I always pimped ohhh's, and I am proud of it, but I would not recommend it for youngsters.
