47% of Turks are against EU, but the government is not pulling back the EU application. Do you really think Turkey will recognise Greek Cyprus unless
- Cyprus unites under a federation (Greeks vetoed this before) or
- North Cyprus Turkish Republic is recognised or
- Turkey joins EU

Or is Turkey using her EU application to put pressure on Greek Cypriots?

Cyprusguy: Makarios called the UN security council about the Greek military junta's dictatorship over Cyprus and stopping the Greek terrorists etc etc. You can listen his own speech from the link. TRUE history of Cyprus, Greek terrorism.

Also British army has to leave the Greek Cyprus if Greek Cyprus is a genuine free country. Is it still a colony?

Yes Turkey will recognise the Cyprus Republic. Illegal occupations cannot stand forever. If Turkey wants to join the EU and also join the club of modern democratic countries, then they have to leave Cyprus. Having the miltary in the background is never healthy for a country. Turkey's deep state is using Cyprus as a made up external threat to keep the population believing that the military control of civil authorities is justified. There are cracks though and the Turkish people will realise that a government should spend more time building roads and check the meat for salmonella rather than making up enemies. Now the G/C rejected the Annan plan because Turkey retained strategic control over the island. G/C and T/C have nothing to divide because they are compatriots and they understand each other very well. Remove Turkey from the equation and everything will be resolved amongst Cypriots.

Second Reply. You can keep believing all those things and is your right. The situation is as this: the Turkish occupation according to international law is illegal. It doesnt matter what Turkish Gov does or says it will still be illegal. The Turkish people must realise their true interests and leave Cyprus alone. Only then Turkey will have a chance for a bright future. If you think that we Cypriots will sit around and let Turkey swallow half of our country you are just kidding yourself. The internal problems we have between the 2 communities in Cyprus is our bussiness and not of Turkeys. Turkey must understand that it has no future in Cyprus. The time will come for the Bristish bases also. After we are done with the Turkish army we will deal with them.
