Why do people buy homes and not keep them clean or maintained???

Question

I bought a home in an upper-middle class neighborhood. It LOOKED pretty clean and well kept, but after I moved in I realised that it was only cleaned well enough to appear clean and apperently little maintence was done on it. I have spent months dealing with all of this (full time) and have a ton more to do. And we had friends move into the same neighborhood recently and theirs is in worse shape then ours!
What is wrong with people? Do they have no pride? I can't beleive they raised their children is such messes.

to cbhorse girl... You're right, I don't know how "hard" it is to keep a house clean because I find it easy to KEEP it clean. I just don't find it easy to have to SCOUR a home that should never have gotten filthy to begin with. And "YUCK" on as long as it looks clean that's all that matters! I bet I know what your house looks like!!! Shame on you.

Always the simplest way to clean anything is to clean as you go. But so many people would rather do a halfway job occasionally than bother to do a little bit along. Guess it gives them more Television watching time, or something. I don't understand it myself. But I'm with you on this one! Turn OFF the TV and get busy!

When you become a parent then you will realize that there is no such thing as "free time". Thus you will have to find 20 minutes per week to quickly clean that house so that it won't become a total disaster.

i used to be the 2d maximum messy person around (My companion being the main messiest) our residing house became a disaster zone. It became that undesirable our households might come over for cleansing bees to help get on top of issues yet then in 2 weeks it would appear as if no longer something had occurred. I had no concept the thank you to maintain this sparkling residing house that had regarded in one day it wasn't component of my each and daily habitual. between us we run 3 businesses time is at a top type cleansing became no longer a concern. i desperate sufficient became sufficient issues had to alter. i might sparkling a cabinet or a draw (counting on time) then spend here few days working the newly sparkling area into my each and daily habitual then pass onto the subsequent small job. Low and Behold anybody caught messing up my sparkling area! My companion caught on very rapidly and since the each and daily habitual became greater demanding I assigned him trouble-free initiatives. by then he could desire to appreciate the reward of residing in a great sparkling area and post little resistance. because of the fact the cleansing became slow i did no longer burn out earlier i ended and the habitual became in place to maintain it with no extensive marvel to the device as quickly because it became completed that's y this time it became diverse and that i've got been residing in a muddle unfastened messless residing house in view that

obviously you dont know how hard keeping a family house clean is. its better than no house and if it LOOKS nice thats what matters when people see it.
get over it and hire a maid if you live in a wealthy neighborhood

Because they spent too much money on their expensive house, so they could impress everyone, that they couldnt afford a maid.

Unfortunately, many many people have no pride.. they do not care.. and live like pigs. I do not know what else to tell you but that is the way it is.

people can be slobs anytime whether they buy a house,car , or clothes, its just there nature
