We could, but the only ones with the kind of technology needed to accomplish this ARE the aliens. Asking them for help would kind of defeat the purpose, wouldn't it?

First of all, the current inhabitants of earth do not have the technology that would make that possible. The earth would have to be completely encapsulated and a heat source would be required to prevent the planet from freezing as it moved away from the sun. Earth would also have to maintain its rotation for gravity. Rather an impossible technological feat for the primitive stage that we currently exist in. Perhaps in a few hundred or thousand years such an operation might be possible.

Another thing, we do not have knowledge yet of aliens from outer space, their intelligence, or their intentions if they would visit. They just might surprise you and be friendly, but for movie thrillers, it is popular for aliens to be aggressive enemies. It makes for suspense and action and brings in the money at the box office.

The only reason aliens come to invade is because we are in such a desirable location- if we moved, they would probably want to invade less, but then again, do you really want to live so far away that when you got up in the morning it was -400 degrees? I'd rather take my chances and stay here.
However, if you somehow build a luxury spaceship, instead of making earth into a big natural ship, please let me know. I need a vacation off this planet!

Aliens aren't going to harm us. They don't exist! Independence Day and War Of The Worlds are just books & movies created by strange people with a wild imagination. Don't let it get to you, nothing is going to happen. It's all made up. And besides we can't just move the Earth. Try to think about all this and get the picture that people will be fine.

Right on bro! We keep sending voyager probes and Chuck Berry music into outer space with maps to help them find us...Holy Crapola!!! We're gonna piss 'em off and they're gonna come stomp on our carbon based domes! We should be layin' real low till we get a handle on who, why, when, an what for...know what I mean. Anyway I wish ourselves luck, cause we just might end up being the "Silent Scream" on some forgotten planet at the edge of the universe.

Firstly, there already pre-exists a means to propel Our Earth out of Our Solar system, however, we choose not to use this methodology, as it would terminate all life on our planet Earth as we know it...
Have you ever heard of:
"The end...justifies the means"?
Again to re-itterate, We have the "means", yet to justify the "means...would be the "end".
The means would be through "H.A.T", the acronym for Hyper. Atomic. Transfer (propulsion)
The "End", would be what is known through-out the Scientific community as the "Greenhouse Effect".

If we move away from the sun we will freeze. If we move closer to the sun we will burn. But maby we can make own heat strong enough and our own light to! We can do this! Finally we can flee from the alien scum!

Listen, I'm O.K. here, but if you want to go, feel free. Find your own bloody spaceship and blast-off. Bon Voyage.
