Are the CPU's made for HP computers manufactured to different specifications than non-proprietary P.C.'s?

Are they a different voltage or size? Are they smaller or larger than other CPU's built for other systems?

By the way, I retracted another question pertaining to the installation of a socket 478 CPU on a socket 478 motherboard. My apologies to all who answered, as I was mistakenly trying to use a socket 473 CPU.
Duh! Do I need glasses, or what?

no, they are interchangable with any of the same type motherboard

they are manufactured the same.
