Wow, that's a serious question. My children are attending a Christian school. I am a teacher at a public school. I chose the Christian school for my boys because I wanted them to learn and maintain a "value system" based on what Christians believe to be "right or wrong" vs "rules enforced in public education." I believe that when you choose to teach ANYWHERE you are held to a "high moral standard". That standard is even higher at a Christian school. Children learn what they live. Children establish values and tools to make decisions by their everyday experiences. Since this is Christian school you speak of, I do not think the teacher should be re-hired.
1) she broke a commandment.
2) those commandments are being taught at that school everyday
3) the children need positive Christian role models
4) those role models should not be preaching one thing and living another...
5) the parents are paying alot of money to bring their children up in a Christian environment surrounded by Christian teachers
God is a forgiving God and has already forgiven this teacher. We are all human and make mistakes. However, to continue to have an affair (even to see the man a second time) is choosing to turn her back on her Christian beliefs. There is a difference between a "mistake" and "continued adultry." Therefore, this teacher needs to try and be re-hired in a different school..and hopefully learn from her mistakes.

Maybe the question should be, should a school teacher that was fired for having an affair with another teacher be hired back? Whether they are Christian or not, shouldn't have an effect on the matter.
It depends, were any of the parties married to other people?

This would depend upon the circumstances which here is hypothetical and I have no point of reference of infidelity. My question would be, how did anyone know?
My answer is YES...... people live and learn and although a shock to the students....this HAS happened in my life...I couldn't help but wonder. What ensued is that the teachers were separated further away from each other in the school...and they were both wonderful people. No one was fired. I was raised a strict Catholic and forgiveness is a part of living. Life is not a Soap Opera and not a dress rehearsal either. I do not know if they ended up marrying as I changed schools...but I never forgot the great attention I received from each of them respectively, as neither brought it into the school. I would have never known. Thus, my reply is hire the teacher back if fired, if not....let the unification of the superintendents office handle this. I know that the Board of Education doesn't smile upon this. However, sometimes people simply fall in love. Have forgiveness, and let us mind our own business. I mind mine.

Are you implying that just because she is Christian, she should be allowed her job back? Or are you saying that she is a Christian, so she wasn't really doing anything wrong?
It depends on what is more important: Christian values, setting the example for school children, or the rules of the Board of Education?
Christianity is supposed to refer to the ten commandments as a source of guidance, and it specifically says that Thou shalt not commit adultery.
It is inappropriate for two teachers to be romantically involved, especially with children around. Teachers can be some of the most important people in a child's life, and to display the act of an affair in front of them is not exactly what the children need.
In the end, it will most likely boil down to the rules of the Board of Education. Most likely she won't be able to get her job back.

I assume that at a Christian school, it would hold firm to what the Bible has to say on these matters. See James 3:1, "Not many of you should presume to be teachers, my brothers, because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly." In addition, the ten commandments state not to commit adultry. That teacher may not serve as the best role model for students. However, if the teacher admits his/her sin and has repented of it, I don't see why he/she shouldn't be hired back. However, a watchful eye on the teacher should be required after breaking the trust that the school had with him/her.

well, if this is a private school that emphasizes Christian believes, and the teachers were hired knowing that they were expected to live up to those beliefs, then they both need to take the consequences. Parents send their kids to a religious school so that they can be exposed to positive role models and learn more than just reading and writing...they aren't getting what they paid for if their kids are exposed to illicit affairs, are they? They could send them to public schools for free for that!

Should a christian school teacher who was fired for having an affair with another teacher be able to return to teaching? I do not believe that she wants to return to work after what she did. does she think what she was doing was fine for all involved? How can she even think of teaching school for children if she did not have second thoughts, of what she was doing. She should be ashamed of herself for letting temptation dictate her actions.

I'm assuming you mean affair as in they were married to other people? Lets break this down - Christian as in setting an example, teacher as in setting an example? I think this doesnt need an answer - but just in case - NO. If you cant control yourself around an adult, what the heck do you do in front of kids?

Christian schools have moral values and requirements in place. I would assume if the teacher was fired for this reason, then it broke the schools moral code/value code.
I would be very surprised if they hired the teacher back.
