Eating large amounts of sugar causes thread worms?

Wives tale. Only ingesting the larvae of worms will give you the infection. The usual method of infection is oral-fecal, meaning you ate something that wasn't washed properly or you didn't wash your hands after touching microscopic amounts of feces with larvae in it.

Eating the sugar does not cause the worms. You have to eat worm larva to get worms. However if you do already have thread worms a symptom is craving large amounts of sugar because that's what the worms eat.

old wives tale! unless there are thread worms in the sugar but then you could only take one bite and get thread worms

Not true but it will give you other problems like obesity / diabetes / dental decay need I say more. Large amounts of sugar is not good for you.

yes its an old wives tale but i thought drinking beer wouldn't make you fat was an old wives tale as well but guess what ITS TRUE

It causes worms but dont know if they threadworms, you can usually see then wriggling about in your stools
