Wives tale. Only ingesting the larvae of worms will give you the infection. The usual method of infection is oral-fecal, meaning you ate something that wasn't washed properly or you didn't wash your hands after touching microscopic amounts of feces with larvae in it.

Eating the sugar does not cause the worms. You have to eat worm larva to get worms. However if you do already have thread worms a symptom is craving large amounts of sugar because that's what the worms eat.

Not true but it will give you other problems like obesity / diabetes / dental decay need I say more. Large amounts of sugar is not good for you.

It causes worms but dont know if they threadworms, you can usually see then wriggling about in your stools
