The creamy white colour of milk is caused by the protein called Casein.

Rich in calcium, Casein helps contribute to milk's white color.

In addition, the cream that is found in milk contains white colored fat. The more cream in milk the more white it is.

Low and non-fat milk appear more grayish rather than white because they contain less cream.

Another reason milk looks white to our naked eyes is because some objects do not absorb very much light. Rather than absorb light, these objects reflect light. For instance, red colored objects reflect only red light and absorb the other colors of light in the rainbow spectrum. The molecules that make up Casein and cream reflect light. That's why milk is white.

That is the dumbest question ever. Color has nothing to do with what you eat. Woman also make milk once they have a baby and they eat tons of different colors of food.

The answer is that this question is about 50 years old as my father used to ask me this as a kid. It goes along with which came first, the chicken or the egg? Also in answering, if more serious questions were asked instead of this foolishness, we all might learn something.

Milk is white. Breastfeeding mothers aren't white, and they don't eat white food, and they're milk is still white.

I have a better question, why is it that when I get drunk and puke there are multi coloured bits of food in my puke?
I am talking about things like diced carrots!
I have not eaten diced carrots in years, yet everytime I puke,
there they are! How do they get in there?
where do they come from? Is my body storing them for these
times and then throwing them into my puke just to freak me out?
Is my body trying to get back at me?
