According to the book of Revelations as interpreted by modern christendom, the anti-christ will be a world leader who appears on the scene after the gathering (rapture.) This leader will unite the people of the world against the believers of Jesus Christ in the war of Armegeddon. The popular belief is that we won't know who he is until he makes himself self evident.

Not counting Bush? I'd say most of his cabinet could qualify. That certain blonde that I'll call Man Coulter might be if she were significant enough to matter. (But I really don't believe the anti-Christ is a person--but wait a minute...neither is Man Coulter....hmmm.)

The title Antichrist is often used in reference to the Beast (who's number is 666) from Revelations. This is thought by many biblical scholars to refer to a Roman emperor (possibly Nero) current to the time that Revelations was written.
