how do i disable norton antivirus? they want me to pay for this servic e!?

It would be foolish to choose to uninstall Norton unless you have something else to protect you. The cost of repairing or buying a new computer is by far more than buying Norton outright.

Go into your control panel, and click on add/remove programs. Click on Norton antivirus, and select remove.

Delete it from your computer hard disk. Click start, control panel, Add and Remove program and click Norton Anti virus tu delete it.

Right click And choose disable from the icon on the taskbar or to stop it from starting by clicking start click run type msconfig and choose normal startup tab then De-selecting norton. done

It is a difficult program to uninstall. It leaves debris all over your computer.

Remove it from the Add/Remove programs then navigate to the directory C:\Program Files\Symantec and remove the folder and contents remaining there.

Next go to C:\Document and settings\all users\application data and remove the Symantec folder there. (Note this is a hidden folder so be sure you have your view set to show hidden folders).

Next scan your registry with a good registry scanner to clean the registry entries.
