I have a sony ericson phone and the screen stopped working. so i called my company and they said that i have to send it in and they asked me what color the dot on the inside of phone is and its yellow now. I'm pretty sure it used to be white. What does the yellow mean? Are they gonna charge me extra becuase the dot is not white anymore?

Typically the water indicator will be either white or pink. Yellow may indicate that there has been some liquid damage, but I would ask to be sure. If a phone has been exposed to liquid and this indicator shows it, the manufacturer's warranty is void. Typically this means that you will pay something for the replacement; check your invoice for an insurance premium because you may have coverage to make the replacement cheaper than buying a new phone.

When the Dot turn yellow it mean you now have a brain tumor from the cell phone. The Company will try to get it back to Destroy the evidence! BUT, I may be wrong, just guessing.
Also, the Dot may be a way of knowing a "Run Number" of the phone, like when it was made. Food/Chips etc. have numbers, and, will ask what this number is, if they know something, then, they can tell you what to do or send it back. Just a way of knowing a Month/Day of manufacture.

If the dot changed from the original color it means the phones was damaged by moisture or some type of liquid. Most commonly known as "water damaged"
