Ok, here are a bit of the lyrics: "These blues have got a hold on me, that ain't no lie. I've been so lonesome, I think I'm gonna lay right down & die. Blue, blue, blue. Blue, blue blue. Oh lord lord lord I'm feeling blue". I need exact title & artist if possible! Thanks!!!

This is prob a late 60's recording...rockabilly sounding. Sung by a man, with the typical country twang.

Might just be an old Glen Cooper tune called "These Blues are Driving Me Mad". I'm trying to figure it out.

EDIT:
Are you sure that these are the exact lyrics?

EDIT:
Well, I give up. Sorry, I'm going to bed. My best gues is that this is from one of Jimmie Rodger's "Blue Yodels". He made twelve of them. That would put the age about thirty years before your estimate, but the description and lyrical style fit. Sorry I couldn't be more help.

Good luck!

some of that sounds like "blue on blue" by Bobby Vinton.

Part of it sounds like a song called Paul, by Shel Silverstein.
not sure if i got the spelling right.

Perhaps you are thinking of Blue by Lee Ann Rhymes which is a remake of a Patsy Cline song.

Possibly "San Francisco Bay Blues" by Jesse Fuller but it doesn't go exactly as you said. (It's the song with the line,
"I ain't got a nickle and I ain't got a lousy dime.")

Good one.
I tried Roy Orbison, Joplin, Carl Perkins, Rufus Wainright...still can't find it.
