what 'd be the penalty if I get caught driving a car with a permit only, not with a driver license? would I go to jail for that or I 'd get a ticket only?

A permit requires supervision of a parent/guardian and if no guardian would probably result in a ticket.

You would probably just get a ticket, I don't know if that could effect you getting a license though. I drove with a permit for 6 months, no way was I going to wait for my 16th.

Check your local laws, I know in Maine its a no go on the solo with a permit. Plus a Driver's Ed instructor should have told you that unless you are in one of those states that lets kids with absolutely no experience go out and drive around with minimal instruction.

Well I'm from Louisiana and I drive my truck and I don't have my liscense just my permit. I ain't been caught yet so I'm doin good....lol. But in Louisiana if you get caught driving without a liscense or if you have a permit and an adult isn't ridin with you you would get fined for the 1rst offense and you wouldn't get your liscense until you're 21 for the 2nd offense.

The answer to this is..FROM state to state the laws are different ..BUT in most states the answer to this is NO...u must have a adult over the age of 18 yrs old and Licensed..the ticket again is different from state to state so...goto your local DMV office for more details on this..and HAPPY driving

Depends on your state but in most cases, you would get a ticket and you would not be able to get your license until you are 18. This would also have a negative affect on your insurance.

actually all of you are wrong. If you are caught you could loose your permit and not be able to get a liscense till age 18 and you could have the car towed away.

If you were alone you would get a ticket, if you were with a class E or lower you get a ticket. There is also a $500 minimum fine

I don't think so. But what stage are you on permit 1 or 2? It's been so long I can't remember.
