I am a student living here in the U.S. and since I have moved here rasim just seems to never stop on us hispanics.I think it is very unfair for others to see us different just because we have a different color skin and we speak another language. Isnt this suppose to be United States? everyone together united no matter what the difference is?

Sorry, but u'll experience racism where u'll go. Every race experiences it. U just notice it more when it's UR race. I'm 100% positive we've all had (even unintentional) racist thots or said something racist. Yet despite this racism, u will see ppl united when devastation hits us. Every good has a bad and vice versa. Think of all the good things the United States offers. U are free to say whatever u want, u can vote, education is free (up til college and even then u can still go to the library and study as much as u want), etc. If ur strong enuff, u wont let racism get in the way of ur pride. Be strong! for all of us.

As a Hispanic I don't have a real answer, but you have to take into consideration that some Hispanics like to party and cause trouble. People only pay attention to those trouble making partiers and don't take the time to look at every Hispanic they meet. I think it's also cuz of the illegal immigrant issue. There are so many Hispanics in America that I think it scares the Americans so they make stupid assumption about us. But I wouldn't pay too much attention to them. You just have to suck it in and be the best person you can be. Show those people that you aren't like all the other Hispanics in America. Maybe, within time they'll come to see that not everyone is the the same. :)

there is racism towards every color here. don't think that it is unfair to you, because everyone else can go on about how it is unfair to them. its just the world we live in, everyone views things different, apparently you only looking at certain factors when saying the whole u.s is racist against hispanics.
speaking a different language has nothing to do with racism, that's just another prejudice.

if you see racism common around you, perhaps you are surrounded by a small group of racist people or you may be a bit overly sensitive about certain things. Try to explore away from your usual environment and see if you feel different. Of course, if your behavior (including your clothing) stands out as odd in your surroundings, people may see you a bit different but it doesn’t mean it is racism; people may be stereo typing your character based on your looks and that’s just common in any culture or society.

I agree, but it's just not hispanics. Also, african americas, and asians. I'm hispanic and african american and I never experience racism, but I hear people complain about this alot. You shouldn't let people get to you using racist comments. Ignore them and live your life. All people here aren't racist, just the people who are ignorant.

It is ignorance and it it sad. But there is racism to many others too. For example some of my muslim friends have been discriminated against and it is horrible.

what do you mean? racism is not someone telling what you don't want to hear, it's hating people because of their color. if it's so bad here, why not return to were you came from? it must have been better there , or why complain about it here.if both are that bad , maybe it's you and not them....
