Maybe your partner isn't doing it right or maybe your with the wrong gender. Try switching to the other gender for a while.

Not a simple problem because the answer has to do with your mental state. Dig this man, when your alone doing your thing their is no one watching and all you have to do is satisfy yourself, but when you're with a woman you're trying so hard to make sure that you're hittin' all the right spots that you in fact fry your brain...It sounds stupid but us men do have two heads and your letting the big brain try to do what the little brain already knows how to do.So stop concentrating so hard on being that "Superstud' you see on those pornos and let your"mini-me" do his thing, trust me he knows what makes him feel good and that's going to give you the stroke you need to keep you hard.Oh yeah,it also may be that you're just knockin' women off for sport and you really ain't the kind of dude that gets much outta that, then you might have to get somebody you really dig..and if that's the case your problem is solved.

I have a few guesses.
1) You're nervous when having sex. You're unsure about yourself, or you're nervous that about your partner, wanting her to have a good time or an orgasm. You're totally comfortable when spaking it, on the other hand. (Woops!)
2) When you jerk off, it probably only lasts a few minutes. When you have sex, you try to make it last longer than that. You just need to change your timing mojo.
3) There is something scarry to you about sex. Maybe you're not completly comfortable about your partner? With yourself?
4) It can be quite difficult. As a guy, during sex, you're trying hard not to *** too quickly, and also trying not to lose your hard-on. It can be a tight rope. And there's lots of pressure on you to perform, be a stud, and please your woman. And now that this has happened to you, YOU'RE GONNA BE WORRIED ABOUT IT HAPPENING TO YOU AGAIN, and that will cause it to happen!
Try to chill, and enjoy it!

since you can have an erection during masturbation, your problem is not a physiological one. the most likely source of your impotence is a mental one. i'm assuming that you're alone while masturbating and are relaxed. maybe when you're with your partner you're nervous.
i'd suggest getting comfortable with your partner by doing some mutual touching, etc. once you're comfortable with each other's bodies, the rest should come naturally.
