But you was completely innocent,
how would you react and how would
you get justice from the police
and the government and the media
that over reacts with the news just
to sell it's papers.

As an ordinary Joe in the street, I have no faith in the justice system. It has been revised so many times that the system favours criminal behaviour and rejects the victims. Victims are expected to get on with life or attend victim support groups.

Not all police forces are the same but they will all claim to work under difficult conditions after 7/7.

I think Mohammed Abdul Kahar summed it up just right, "I thought I was going to die. I thought, it's an armed robbery. I didn't know they were the police."

I would not like to be lying on the ground, blood pouring out of my chest asking for help and being told to shut up. I'd be terrified.

That the police later apologised "I apologise for the hurt that we may have caused." was laughable. 'May have caused'? 'May'?

A unarmed man was shot in the chest. That he survived was a miracle. I hope he recovers fully and speedily and is able to live peacefully despite this incident.

Well for a start i would not end up looking like a Terrorist. How i would react is that i would grasp at whatever part of me i was shot in. Firstly i would apologise to the Police for looking like the suspects they were looking for. getting money from the Government and the media for the horrific injuries that i had sustained at the hands of the police officer that shot me. the best way would be to sit there at the news conference with a couple of others who look just like me. and look really sad and helpless while i made asinine comments about how the police reacted to me coming down the stairs to see what all the noise was about
just like any other idiot would do. So that's how i would feel.

I was completely horrified when i read of the case of those two innocent brothers. If it happened to me, I would find myself a damn good lawyer and sue. Financial compensation may not ease the wounds, but it would afford me the new life i'd crave after such a horrific event. The police seem to think they are above the law, and being knocked down a few pegs wouldnt do them any harm.
