They tried their best, and deserve some credit.

But you have to remember.... it's not a "strip". We're talking decades of comics here. These original storylines took pages and pages, and involved many more characters, and plot points. There's no way they can stay one hundred percent true. It would be like trying to make a two hour movie with all of the stuff from ten years of your favorite soap opera. Just cant do it.

In other words, if you read the right comics (I suggest X-Men graphic novels for ya), you'll see that the comics were much more creative, articulate and rewarding. It's a great idea for a bathroom reader if you like X-Men films.

Yooka's got it, but I'd like to add this: the actors and actresses age regularly, while comic book characters age according to some unofficial fantasyland guide. Tony Stark (Iron Man) should be collecting his Social Security checks, and Peter Parker (Spider-Man) should be in about his mid-50's. However, not only do they age differently than actual humans, but they eventually get "regenerated" to stay young. The actors who portray them will eventually age out of the roles, so the scriptwriters need to plan for that while trying to get in as much comics material as possible.

They did their best given the time constraints. How do you really do justice to a story and a roup of characters that have developed over decades in a few hours? Although taking stories from one character, twisting them to fit your needs and then giving them to another character kind of sucks. But otherwise a good job on the part of the writers and directors.

Is fairly close if you don't nitpick. The story charater stories had to be changed to include non-comic book people to enjoy the movie.

It was close enough. Things like the Pheonix story really couldn't be translated to film in two hours, so their interpretation worked out really well.
