You may not get arthritis by "cracking your knuckes", but you are slowly precipitating damage to the joints by putting unnecessary pressure and stress on them. Which further down the line, combined with hereditary factors, etc. may make you more susceptible to other joint problems such as arthritis as the joints age.

No this is an urban myth that as busted by Myth Busters Television show. There is no link to Arthritis by cracking your knuckles. The only discomfort with come with lessening the cartilidge in your knuckles, but will not cause Arthritis.

I don't think so...arthritis is sometimes hereditary and sometimes develops as a result of injury. The "cracking" you hear is just fluid moving around in your knuckles.
