I didn't think it was so bad. They had it in a clamp which is so much pressure on your tongue that you really don't feel much as far as the piercing goes. It did hurt after it was done for the rest of the evening (just an annoying throbbing pain sort of like a headache) and it will swell up for a few days, but nothing some ice cubes can't take care of. I pierced my nose and the top of my ear (cartlidge) and those both hurt way more than my tongue.

One of the "things" you need to know is that the tongue is one of the worst areas to harbor germs. Infection. Do you actually think this is something beautifull? If you kiss a guy with braces, here come the EMT's.
You should wait. I have a business, do the hiring, and will NOT hire anyone with a tongue piercing. This is not professional.
Why don't you get your belly button pierced instead?

I have my tongue pierced and it was quite painful to have done. Your tongue does swell up, but not to the point where you can't eat or talk normally. Tongue piercings need a lot of care, so if you're okay with that then go ahead if you want to. Just get plastic balls so that you don't wreck the enamel of your teeth.

I watched my friend do it and his tongue swelled up really bad for over a week. I chose not to do it from that experience. It is like the jumping off the cliff test and I was not going to jump. He does not have it any more but has a dead spot on his tongue that does not taste of feel anything. He also drools a lot when he sleeps.

I wanted to get my tongue pierced two years ago, and did a lot of research on it (they ended up not being able to do it because of the placement of the veins on the underside of my tongue). Anyway, visit www.tribalectic.com and read about "personal experiences" for tongue piercings. There's a lot of information there.

I have my tongue peirced and I will not lie. HECK YEAH it hurts. You will only be able to eat soft foods for a couple of days due to the swelling of your tongue. You can not smoke or drink anything for like 3 days and if you do you must rinse your mouth out right afterwards so it does not cause infections.

Please go through with it. My brother in law who is a dentist loves them. The tongue ring completely wrecks the enamel and then you can spend a fortune having them all capped. He practically built his mansion on people like you. Also after you get it pierced, be sure not to eat spinach, lettuce, spaghetti, or any other stringy food or you will give your dinner mate enough entertainment for the evening.

did you know that some people have died as a result of having their tongue pierced? yeah... they got an infection, as do many people, but it spread to the brain and it killed them. i have no article to back this up, it's just something that i heard a few years back.
i don't recomend getting your tongue pierced... it's kinda discusting and not very attractive at all...
