There is a dead man in a field with no one or nothing around except a stone. The man died because of the stone, but he wasn't hit by the stone or even came in contact with the stone. No one was around when he died. Who is the man and how did he die?

Also he only had his clothes on and nothing else. A few people have the right answer but I want to see if other people will get it.

Aha!
You felt the need to say that not only wasn't he hit by the stone, but he didn't even come into contact with it.
You would have just said the first one, IF it wasn't relevant in some way.
Sooooooooo. No mention of how big the stone is, so let's assume it's small enough that even if it did hit you, it wouldn't do so much damage.....
UNLESS...... it was encased in a ball of ice. Sure. Then it could be much bigger, weigh a ton, really do some damage when it impact....
while of course, the whole time cunningly ensuring that the stone itself NEVER ACTUALLY TOUCHES the man.
In the time it takes YOU to arrive at the field, the ice has melted, the water evaporated, and all that is left is your splattered man and a stone lying nearby.
I don't care about points. Hope you actually read this though.

I'm with the skydiver answer. He jumped out of the plane and forgot his parachute...the stone just happened to be laying close to where he landed. There is nothing else around him so it couldn't have been a grave digger, no shovel. And I'm sorry, I guess I'm just to old to believe in Super Heroes anymore.

It's a graveyard. He's already been buried. It's his gravestone. He died alone, either at home or in a hospital or nursing home?? So, he's the guy in the coffin?? I don't know! Maybe he's "John Doe"?? You know, the dead guy with no id, so they just call him John Doe..??
; )
Or maybe he was buried hundreds or thousands of years ago, and he's just been excavated - along with a stone / gravestone??
If it was the gravedigger, the gravestone wouldn't BE there yet, because surely they never get them ready in time for the funeral!??!
