This is my stepson. His mother refuses to give him any punishment for this or anything else. She has had him to three different med. doctors, all of which said there is no medical reason for this. After that she took him to a shrink who after 5 visits said there is nothing she can do because he likes it. she said the best medicine is punishment. Now I'm back to square one his mommy won't punish her baby.

Anyone know a good divorce lawyer?

I truly don't know the incidence of this particular behaviour. My suggestion - talk to your pediatrician and get the names of several well respected therapist (Psychiatrists preferrably). Check them out - and decide then - who do you feel most comfortable with, have they treated similar cases - what is their success/failure rate in treating this disorder (if it is actually a disorder).

GOod luck to you.

Very rare. That's actually not a good thing. I don't want to offend you or him. But he needs to talk to someone about it because it can actually get worse and it can cause problems especially while growing up and still enjoying to do this. Their should be some teaching skills of hygiene and a little discipline along with consequences if it doesn't change. Growing up is a big part of all of us and it should be leveled. Maybe you can talk about this with him. Good Luck!!!!

oh my g**!!!!if he doesn't have any medical problems, then I would say it's very rare.my stepson was born with a perforated anus and he defacates in his pants everyday, with no desire to clean himself.my husband and i took him to a gastroenterologist
to see what we could do about it,and he told us that bowel training is our best hope.we put him on the toilet everyday at 7,11,3,7, o'clock.the problem is his birth mother!!!he visits her every weekend and she doesn't put him on the toilet at those times.if you have full custody,i would recommend you try to bowel train him.it will make his body want to defecate at those times
