Sin is only a word that describes something or another that offends God. Asking if sin exists is then like asking if God can be offended. God Himself is the only one who can decide what offends Him but He does make it clear to us what offends Him. The consequence of your own sin is that you cannot be with Him who you have offended unless you make amends. You yourself cannot overcome sin but God can and has overcome sin in bodily human form as the man Jesus Christ. He overcame sin by never offending God. So the death he sufferred can become the very thing that amends your own relationship with God. Sin does indeed dwell in the soul of a man since actions that offend God cannot simply be erased - they must be put in a human soul since they are of and from a human soul. For this reason Christ, even though he is fully God, had to also be a true man with a human soul. In his death the curse of sin is destroyed and because He was not guilty the acuser had no charge with which he could hold Him. So we have at His will, by His desire, and in His plan the option to accept this free gift from God and overcome sin. When we are born again in Him we die to sin and the power of sin over us is defeated. We are still sinners in a sinful world but we have been bought by Him and no longer have to pay the price ourselves. So we therefore can be with the Living God free from the penalty of our own sin. If you would like to know more about these views pick up the Bible - read Romans. Go to a Bible-believing church. Humble yourself before God and accept the loving gift His Son Jesus has already given you and become a believer.

People still do not get Sin.
When someone Sin's the sin is still out there.
It's like a pebble in a pound, you cast the pebble (sin) into the Water (Earth) and there is a ripple effect.
Don't believe me?
Some examples:
1 Person lies a small lie...
Sounds inocent enough
What happens when the truth is unfolded?.... Trust is being broken for that person. 1 lie equals months even years to get that trust back. Ok Now on to the same thing 1 person lies, they then go to another person they lie, and boom the ripple effect, People start doubting people and trust is not to be had , and thus Instead of beliving a stranger they have to prove it to them. Do you have time to beleive a stranger because you have been lied too?
Lets say your in an abusive situation. A man hits a woman, this goes on for years they wise up and leave, now everytime a man raises his voice rather it be that person looking into a relationship or another relationship, she will automatically be frightend for that person getting hit and /or being hit herself.
The bible states A sin is a sin and no one is a greater sin than the other, so in other words someone lying is just as bad as someone commiting murder.
Does Murder impact life? Does it have a ripple effect? Now this is only one person doing it, now if everyone does 1 lie in their life time look at all the people it will reach out to.
Do you trust people I mean really trust all people you come into contact with? If you say no welcome to the ripple effect of Sin.
So Does Sin Exist? You tell me.

I don't think there s an answer to your question because first you should ask this:is there a God? If you believe in God then sin exists for you. There is not one answer to your question that would suit all people, right and wrong are totally subjective. In my opinion killing is wrong, but there are people who think that if someone hurt a person you love it would be okay for you to kill them. Apart from religion there s ethics, but that too can be subject to conversation.. If you are a christian/muslim etc there are guidelines about sin-what s considered and what isn t- but if you don t, you go with your instinct. There s something in your head that will tell you if you re doing something wrong. ie is what hurts others wrong, or should you try to satisfy yourself and have fun, regardless of their feelings? Now about the consequences, I believe that some bad actions are punished by law, while others just bug you when you are trying to sleep at night.....................

I don't mean to preach, but sin does exist. The consequence of sinning is this: after you die, you spend eternity in hell. You can overcome sin by accepting God (of the Bible and Christianity) into you heart and asking for His forgiveness, which He always gives.

Definitely because, there are good and bad forces. Which means there is wrong and right which is where sin comes in. Everyone's affected by it and is mostly a religious term. The consequences depend on what you believe. You can believe you are damned to hell or that you will eventually die. You should research to choos what you think you're willing to believe. To overcome sin, it also depends on what you believe. Many believe in doing good. Some believe in having faith in God. You should try to reasearch because there is much that would be hard to explain over internet. Hope I helped!!! :)

Sin is doing what is wrong despite knowing it's wrong. Sin does exist, however, weather or not we will be judged for our sins is unknown. Regardless of a higher being or supreme evil, sin exists as long as people deliberately harm one another.

The great sinners in the world is Politicians. If you are a politician in anyway, you are a sinner. They are the great examples for sin is existing. You can see the consequences of their sins through war and terrorism etc..,.
Most of us do sin, we can try to repend it by helping poorest of poor people in the world. When you spend 10 or 15 dollars for useless purpose, remember there are your fellow-beings living in utterly bad conditions without food, shelter and cloth.

I really think sin stems from selfishness. No matter what culture or country race or gender, if your primary concern is yourself you began to do things that gratify you, without concern for others around you. you can know sin exist when your number one thoughts and deeds are for yourself and very little for anyone else. sin does exist and the consequences of sin is death, not necessarily literal death, but death of spirt and sickness of soul. Sin can be overcome by opening your hearts to others. do something for someone else, pray for someone else.love someone else.without any agenda and the hardest thing to do is forgive, to hold onto hate vindictiveness, offenses and slights are another act of selfishness. stop stroking, loving and caressing your ill feelings for others. wish for them peace and wisdom and then stay away from these people. you should not have to be in the position to forgive and forgive by being around them all the time if you choose or have to stay around them then you will have to continue to forgive them , its hard but not impossible.

The only sin is to be someone you are not and the only consequence is destroying your sense of self.
