For each 1 foot of length, you'd need 3 cubic feet. (3 feet wide x 1 foot deep = 3 cubic feet) Now multiply that by 26, (3x26) and you get 78 cubic feet.
There are 27 cubic feet in one cubic yard (9 feet x 9 feet x 9 feet).
So you'll need 3 cubic yards.
To determine how many bags, see how many cubic feet there are in the bag of the product you want to buy. Usually the bag is always labelled as to how many cubic feet it contains.
Hope this helps!

Alot more than you want to buy in bags. You need about 78 cubic feet. Each bag is usually good for about 1 cubic foot.
