It happened to me too. I googled as well, and ended up here. I find this thread comforting. If the calling gets out of control maybe we could start a support group, or better yet, a detective team to get to the bottom of this. Can we call ourselves the Bloodhound Gang?
Remember, 321 Contact? The bloodhound gang? Oh, nevermind.

I just got a call from 786-264-5975 at 5:44PM CT on the 19th when I was at work, but didn't answer it. There's a few strange phone calls goin around recently, sometimes they have a recording in Spanish and then hang up. I found this link that might tell you more.....

https://digitalstylz.wordpress.com/2006/03/28/786-879-6669/

Other numbers might come up as

301-202-8808
504-407-5581
305-503-8066
704-206-6789
702-649-2772
and, of course, 786-879-6669

I've gotten the same calls from 301 (D.C) and 303 (Denver).

If it's not the Spanish calls, then it might be the other issue folks been having from MCI, where they call and when you answer it hangs up right away. Not sure if MCI has more than one number but the one that I got was 973-437-2125.

According to: whitepages.com

"We're sorry. We did not find a listing for the phone number you entered.
The phone number "(786) 264-5975" is based in Miami, FL and the registered carrier is TCG. However, due to number portability, some numbers have been transferred to a new service provider other than the registered carrier."

Received the call at 3:55pm CST tue Jun 20
I did a little more digging, it appears to be located in Miami Florida with something to do with TCG.

I would try anywho.com and try the reverse look up. You can enter the phone number, then the name will appear if it's not a blocked home number or cell phone.

This number isn't posted (cell phone numbers aren't), but go to www.anywho.com and click on reverse lookup for future reference. If it is listed in the phone book then you can see whose number it is.
