Find out where he lives...

You can win a fight with your boss by first of all not looking at it as a fight. In a fight there will always be a loser and there's a 50/50 chance that that loser could be you. The odds are actually greater in his favor since he/she is the boss after all and is under no obligation to admit you are right even when you are. One of the best ways to prove your boss is wrong in any situation is to document EVERYTHING. Log every conversation, CC every memo you create, keep copies of absolutely all correspondence and make sure the the appropriate higher ups are in on the chain of communication. If your boss is digging their own grave by their own stupidity then eventually you'll have an entire file full of proof to show people when the crap finally hits the fan. Good luck!

If you mean "win" in a competitive way, where one person wins, while another loses, you can't. In that kind of "win," if you win, you will upset or embarrass your boss, or just make him/her feel bad. How do you feel about the people who make you feel bad? This kind of "win"means you actually lose.

If you mean "win" as in "achieve a certain response or result," it depends on you, and your boss, and the disagreement. The best way to win in this case is the "win-win," where there's something in it for everyone. Muster your facts, STAY CALM, and remind yourself that your objective here is to get the result you want, not to beat someone else. Point out where your boss's self-interest would be served by the result you want - "what's in it for me?" If you can find a result that benefits you both, and explain how this result would be better than what you currently have, without pointing fingers or assigning blame, you might get a hearing.

If not, if you and your boss really are at loggerheads and this isn't something you can live with, "win" might be "I found a new job with people I like, where I don't have to work for you." In that case, it's job-shopping time.

The more important question is why are you fighting with your boss? If it is a matter of getting things done and your boss is in the way of progress or profit, consider being upfront with them as you take it to a higher level.

If there is no higher level and this is a personal fight, I'd say you need to let the matter drop or consider how important it is to you to "win".

Otherwise, there's not enough info in your question to tell.

The boss usually has the support of upper management. And you are not likely to win any fight with him.

If you are not getting along with your boss, then the most sensible thing to do is to find another job or move to another department in the same organization.

Fighting with your boss doesn't make sense in terms of your own interests because he can make life more difficult for you at your present job. And he can make it very difficult for you to find another job. A bad reference from your previous boss, when you are looking for a job, is not something you can scoff at.

Why would you want to? I'd just show him the facts and say and that's that and leave. But, he's your boss and makes sure you get a check. So, let him figure it out.

Quit if you're important and wait a few weeks. He'll crawl back to you or you can sue his @$$ off. In a corrupt world like this, the latter solution almost always works.

1. Be helpful
2. Kill him with kindness
3. Be persuasive when you know you are right
4. Try not to be rude. Just tell him that you feel that you are right.
5 Overwhelm him/her with facts.
6. Always talk to him/her not about him/her.
