For a pakistani is it acceptable unless the family is lik total extremist which is not good. Otherwise it is totally okay. I know a few pakistanis who have done it. Pakistanis are very nice people.

First it is not Arabic culture it is Arab culture. Arabic is a language. And there are many different Arab countries and they all have their own culture. And each family is different, just like anywhere else around the world. Some families are ok with it others are not.

As for me I am married to an Arab and I am white. We have a good marriage. Race plays no part in our marriage. His family is also very nice to me, they treat me no different then if I were Arab.

I don't think there's any restriction in Arabic traditions/culture, HOWEVER, there are restrictions in muslim traditions/culture.

So to answer your question, yes, it is socially acceptable.
