Ask yourself if language, and accuracy of communication benefits if we merge these terms, which really cover very separate things.

Should language be more or less specific? If you merge these terms you destroy the precision of a speaker who uses them.

It is much better to fight racism. If you overextend the term you will make enemies among those who fight racisim because it is unreasonable: discrimination, or the belief that once race is inferior to another is not the same thing as blowing up buildings, or is it ?

In my personal opinion, I believe racism is considered terrorism. The people who are unfortunately racist are scared of the people they don't understand. So, to answer your question, terrorism is just an act of hate and hate is the same as racism.

No. Racism can be motivation for terrorism, but they're two different things. Racism is holding stereotypes and/or feeling you're better than someone else because of their race. Terrorism is instilling terror to a group (which can be a certain race, religion, country, etc.) in order to fulfill your demands.

I believe racism can be considered terrorism.. My son came home yesterday very upset because the men at his job called him all kinds of names in another language. A language they know that he only knows the vulgarities, but not all the idiosyncrasies. He would have quit but they let him go, so being a mom, I went over there. In 30 seconds, I was sexually assulted, racially assaulted and discriminated against because of a handicap. I am turning those people in. They are definitely terrorizing people and not just me and my son. I am surprised they are still in business.

In no sense can racism be considered terrorism, as the meanings are different. However, religious terrorists I think are exhibiting their own brand of racism.

Anything fearful human does would be considered as terrorism. It is well known that humanity terrorizes a Planet, not only each other.

It depends to what level racism is taken to. They're both negative energies to have in this world. If we all just loved one another rather than thinking of ways to destroy each other, the world could be a much better place. I'm all for peace, love, and happiness!

Not really, brainless stupidity, extreme parochialism, even fascist criminality if you want but don't give racists any credence. Terrorism takes a certain degree of intelligence and racists are just dumb f**kwits who need beating severely, (that is only my opinion and I most certainly would not like to think that I had incited anyone to burn down the home of a racist, or to destroy their car or office/workplace, or involve themselves in an act of violence against purported racist fools.).

No. Racism is the attacking of a defined group of people - terrorism is the indiscriminate attacking of people.
IE. racism can be against blacks, Chinese, asylum seekers. But in the case of Al Quieda and other terrorist groups they attack and kill anybody including their own religion regardless of who or what they are.

Well, racism isn't considered by the law until there is violence or a crime has been committed. At that point, it is considered a hate crime, but not terrorism.

Terrorism is considered to be more of a political or religious violent crime, meant to target countries and political factions.

wow - that's a great question! but i do think that the 2 things are different from each other. i think of racism as a prejudice mindset but i think of terrorism as acts of violence that definitely involve racism. and again - great question!
