I believe in calling it what it is --

if you're in love with your partner and are truly sharing intimacy, then it's making love

if you don't have romantic feelings for the person and are just fulfilling a biological urge, then it's having sex

I call it making love if I do love the person. I would call it sex if it's just sex. Both are okay, but the love lasts even after sex.

If you are in a committed relationship with someone that you have true deep feelings for, then any act of sexual intercourse would be lovemaking because it would be an expression of the love you share. People who are thrill seekers are having sex, but those people can also be the ones I described above. It is all up to your interpretation, but in order for it to truly be lovemaking, there needs to be a high level of mutual respect, love, and admiration for each other.

There is certainly a difference between the act of sex itself which may or may not include feelings of passion, emotion and even love and "making love" the act of which is almost always tied to the emotions between the people involved.

making love is an intimate time between lovers. Having sex is just a physical act without compassion. Lovers, call it "making love" others call it "having sex

If having sex with someone you're married to and you love them you are making love. One night stands and alot of boyfriend/girlfriend crap is just having sex. I much prefer making love. I've had plenty of both and making love is 100 times greater!

When I hear "Making Love" it is a big turn off. LETS just F**K! Sex has to absolutely be lust driven for me. Love can be shown in all the other aspects of a relationship!
