I prefer Natalie, though I like melissa too..Here some information about that name just for you from me

MELISSA
Gender: Feminine

Usage: English, Greek Mythology, Ancient Greek

Other Scripts: Μελισσα (Ancient Greek)

Pronounced: me-LIS-a [key]

Means "bee" in Greek. This was the name of a nymph that cared for young Zeus in Greek mythology. It is also the name of the fairy who helps Rogero escape from the witch Alcina in the poem 'Orlando Furioso' by Ariosto.

NATALIE
Gender: Feminine

Usage: French, English

Pronounced: nat-a-LEE (French), NAD-a-lee (English) [key]

From the Late Latin name Natalia, which meant "Christmas Day" from Latin natale domini.

Hopefully I can help you and happy choosing...

Take care,

Dee

I suggest you name your daughter Natalie. It's beautiful. I do want to give you the reason why Melissa is not a good name. But we are talking about a child here and the name Melissa is a very controversial story with a lot of people.

Natalie is a lot prettier than Melissa. Natalie makes me think of color and ribbons for some reason. DON'T CALL ME CRAZY.
