It will be a long road back to the fall classic for the Astros. Here is why.
1. They will most likely have to win the division. The wildcard is probably going to go to the NL East between the Mets, Phillies or Braves.
2. The Astros are 5 games behind in the division as of this writing.
3. The Astros are weak in hitting and have not had a consistent bat in the lineup other than Berkman.
4. Their starting pitching is suspect. Petite has been like Jeckly and Hyde. One start he flirts with a no hitter. The next one he gets shelled. Roy O. is on the DL and will probably not be back 100%. The rest of the rotation is too young to make a great determination
5. The bullpen is suspect. No one has been consistent from Qualls through Lidge.
The bottom line is there are too many question marks. I hope they can put it all together and at least get in the tournament. Once they are in anything can happen.

only 6 games back in mid-June - I think they have a small chance, remember at this time last year I don't think anyone gave them any chance! The experience that many of the players on the club have now will help them if they can hang around and be a part of the pennant race. The Reds will fade - they have had that problem recently and I don't see anything really different about there roster. The Cards are definately the favorite, but if Poo-Holes doesn't come back from his injury in good shape it could get very interesting...

in person-friendly words 6 video games again in mid-June - i imagine of they have a small probability, undergo in thoughts as we communicate very last 12 months i do no longer imagine of each body gave them any probability! the shape that maximum of the game enthusiasts on the club have now may also help them in the adventure that they are in a position to draw close round and be a element of the pennant race. The Reds will fade - they have had that situation lately and that i do no longer see some thing somewhat distinct about there roster. The playing playing cards are definately the fashionable, yet at the same time as Poo-Holes does no longer come back from his damage in reliable structure it ought to get very exciting...

No, we've dug too big a hole too early. But we will make the playoffs.
