Technology is not cheap.

If technology was cheap...

we wouldn't need people to flip burgers.
we wouldn't need people to assemble vehicles.
we wouldn't need workers to pick crops.

Why don't we use solar panels on all our houses? The answer is that it takes 8-10 years for the initial cost of the solar panels to even begin to pay for themselves.

Our problem is what is cost effective. Gasoline is CHEAP! Where else can you get a gallon of anything for $3 that has the ability to do so much.

When gasoline gets to the cost of other alternative fuels, the alternative technologies will take over. People will do what is most cost effective.

we HAVE the technology to run on other than gas, but its not the oil companies, its the car who cover the new evolutions in energy sources. its really not that hard to figure out. if car companies produced different energy using vehicles, the oil companies would not make any money and thats the end of their business
