Pentium D is way faster then P4, however alot of software does not suppor the dual core, so its basically same as P4 Unless ur software has support for that.

The Pentium D is a Pentium 4 processor with a dual core. Like having dual processors in one chip. Makes the PC faster.

Get a pentium d. all programs will support dual core, what the person above meant is most programs don't support 64 bit yet. That is true, but they will. and by that point, you'll already have the necessary hardware to take advantage of this.
