I don't think it's right, but it's a moral issue, not a legal one. If you make it a legality, you're crossing into peoples own personal beliefs. Even though the majority of people, including myself, think it's wrong and disgusting, it doesn't mean everyone else practices that belief so why should they be punished if they can handle it in their own personal way?
Have I been cheated on? Yes, that's why I'm divorced. It was horrible. But, I do know some people that can work through it and find a place where they're ok with it and can move on. So, how are they supposed to even attempt to mend that pain if their spouse is in jail?

It already is illegal in the military. Once you illegalize something like that in civilian law, you open the door to all sorts of needlessly restrictive legislation. In a way, it already is illegal. You might not have to go to jail behind it but if a spouse can be proven to have cheated, the other spouse can sue for divorce and get all the marital assetsand the kics. So it's kinda like a civil punishment. Just not a criminal penalty.

I think that it should be illegal to have an affair with a married person. It's a sin to have an affair with a married person. If somone is not happy in their marriage, they need to get a divorce. There is only one good reason for divorce and that itself is having an affair. the person is considered an adulterer.

affiars used to be illegal before humans fully understood the concept of "freedom". There's a reason they aren't these days; too many people have them! Seriously, it's wrong to assume that people who have affairs are "bad" people, and the only people they end up hurting--inevitably, i should know--are themselves and those involved. Society at large is therefore safe should they strike again *shudder*. That's not the case in most other illegal activities.
anyone who thinks that just becasue something is"immoral" (how completely relative) it should be illegal is IGNORANT. period. it's like the whole gay marriage debate. believe what you will about morality. It comes down to human rights.

It is illegal for a married person to have an affair. It's called adultery.
Depending on where you live you could go to jail.

No. If it where made illegal millions of disgruntled spouses would sue the person their husband or wife was having an affair with for damages, even if they just thought they where having an affair.

It is wrong but that is a little extreme. I mean what would the charges be? It's not illegal to lie or to sneak around. So how would you go about it. Wow like 99% of the world would be in jail or on probation. It's funny when you look at it that way huh?

It is illegal and sinful in God's eyes and according to HIS word.... I feel it should be illegal but it never will be sad to say and people have their own minds and would find ways to do it anyway. Back in the Bible times women were stoned for it and it was punishable by death. But if they continue to do this and not change their ways they will be judged on judgement day before God and if they have not changed and asked for forgiveness before passing and going out into eternity they will not make heaven their home!

Frank Sinatra was arrested for being caught with a married woman in the 50s. I'm not sure when it changed or if people and law enforcement just chose to ignore it now. I think it should be a punishable crime. I still love Frank Sinatra though.
