He was traded for a player to be named later and when the time came heand the managment desided that he should be that player to be naned later.

It's happened twice: Harry Chiti was traded by the Mets to the Indians for a PTBNL in 1962, then became that player several months later.

The second time was in 1987, when Dickie Noles was traded by the Cubs to the Tigers, then the deal was reversed a month later.
